Cuban Missile Crisis

The US nuclear weapoen were capable of reaching the Russian land, in the other hand Russia's nuclear weapons were not advance enough to reach US from Russia, so they decided to place the nuclear weapons closer to the US. They turn to Cuba which is an island that is very close to the US. Fidel Castro (the President) agree, he thought it was a good way to stop the US from future evasion to Cuba.

Film Lesson:"The Right Stuff"

In the film the right stuff the Russians and the US are competing in who is more advance in space technology. at first the Russians were more advance because they were the firsts to put a man in space, but then the US, put a man on the moon, which made them head in the competition. a scene from the fill that will help me remeber the cold war event is when they were testing the spaceships. Most of the first spaceships would explote, with out even lifting off. this will help me remeber the cold war event because it shows the desperation that the US had for winning the space competition.

NATO and the Warsaw Pact

The North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) includes countries in Europe and North America. It was created to help defend each other. In case one of the countries gets into a war, all of the other countries that are in NATO will join the fight too. The agreement also helps European nations with economic aide. The Warsaw pact was created in response to NATO. It consisted mostly of the Soviet Union and its satellite countries.
The Soviet Union had control over the alliance. At the end of the 1980s the political scene damaged the organization badly. The USSR started to remove the troops that they had stationed in the other countries that were in the Warsaw Pact.

In the poster Hitler swicthed his attack and invaded the soviet Union on 22 june 1941. The poster says 'Europe's Victory is Your Prosperity'. The poster is anti-Bolshevik. Also Great Britain is shown as graveyard “symbolizing Germany has destroyed Great Britain”
In the picture you can also see Germany threatening a a knock-out to the Soviet Union. the invasion of the USSR is security is show as a baby in a cradle.

Film Lesson:"Schindler's List"

A scene that will stay with me was, when they were taken the kids away from their families, the mothers were screaming, but the kids were innocently smiling, they thought they were been taken on a road trip. The Nazi took the kids, and later killed them. The liquidation of the Krakow ghetto was much unexpected. How people would try to hide anywhere they could. But at the end they would end up being killed.

Film Lesson: "Night and Fog"

I find both films very powerful. i think the Hollywood version and the documentary are very similar. but if i had to choose i would pick the Hollywood version. i think is much more organize and influential. the scenes from the documentary were a lot stronger than the movie though. I remember a part of the documentary that was really strong" were they showed bodies of people, and then next to the bodies was a mountain of heads.

US Atomic Bombing of Japan in 1945

I think that the US atomic bombing of Japan is the #1 news story of the century. because it's entirely change the way we look at war. i believe before the atomic bombing of Japan, war was all about who had the most army and the majority of factories to provide those soldiers with equipments and clothe. but after the atomic bomb, war was about who had the Most powerful and advance atomic bombs.
